What is Bakuchiol, and how does it benefit my skin?

Bakuchiol is found in the leaves and seeds of the Psoralea corylifolia plant & is a natural alternative to retinol, which can often be irritating to the skin. Bakuchiol is a potent antioxidant; it stimulates collagen production and helps minimise fine lines.



When and how should I use BOOST serum?

Apply the serum on damp skin to your face, neck, and décolletage in the evening as part of your night time skincare routine, after cleansing & toning & before moisturising.



Can I use BOOST Serum on sensitive skin?

However, it can potentially interact negatively with other serums or skincare products containing certain ingredients if applied at the same time. It's important to be aware of these potential incompatibilities to ensure that you are not compromising it's effectiveness.

Products which contain, AHAs like glycolic acid and lactic acid & BHAs like salicylic acid which also have exfoliating properties should be used cautiously alongside Bakuchiol to prevent over-exfoliation and irritation.

Also, seek advice when using prescription medications & strong retinoids (Retin-A, Tretinoin). Using abrasive scrubs, physical exfoliants or chemical exfoliants can be too harsh when combined with Bakuchiol. Opt for gentler exfoliation methods, such as MATCHA Face Mask & YUZU Cleansing Scrub.

Using Vitamin C and Bakuchiol at the same time is not recommended. For efficacy, we recommend using BOOST Serum in the evening and POWER Serum (Vitamin C/E Serum) in the morning.



What is cylindrotheca Fusiformis & why is it in BOOST?

This is seaweed, highly concentrated in carotenoids shown to stimulate fibroblasts to synthesize collagen and elastin, smoothing deep lines. It also has essential fatty acids and sterols that has an impressive effect on the skin. EcoCert approved ethanol is used to make an extraction of Cylindrotheca Fusiformis which is an oceanic marine algae. Because of the risk of pollution in the seas, the producer grows the micro algae in a purpose built eco facility. This not only guarantees purity of the algae but also means that the eco balance of the oceans are not disturbed by uncontrolled harvesting.
